We Get to Do This Now

A heartfelt reflection on cherishing everyday moments as mom and daughter and learning to see this season as something we get to live — not just something we have to…

There are some things in life we have to do.

And then there are the things we get to do.

In this season of our mother daughter relationship, living together has become something we truly get to experience.

Living together as mom and daughter —
we get to do this.

Not just in the same house —
but in the same everyday moments.

We laugh in the kitchen.
We sing when a favorite song comes on.
We talk about real things — sometimes serious, sometimes silly.

There are days we encourage one another,
and days when we’re dancing around the kitchen for no reason at all.
Some evenings are quiet and peaceful. Others are full of conversation.

We get to go shopping together and turn simple errands into memories.
We get to take trips and make stories we’ll retell for years.
We can laugh at ourselves over absolutely nothing — and somehow that becomes the best part of the day.

We know each other well. We notice when something’s off, we listen, and sometimes we just sit beside each other without needing to say anything. Our mother daughter relationship has deepened in so many ways.

This isn’t staged or picture-perfect.

It’s dishes in the sink.
It’s late-night talks.
It’s spontaneous kitchen concerts.
It’s inside jokes no one else understands.

It’s life.

And we are grateful for it.

We don’t rush past this season.

We don’t overlook the ordinary.

We live it fully.

And what a gift it is
that we get to do this now.

I love you momma! 💖
I’m so thankful we get to do life together! 🙏

Before you move on, pause for a moment.💖

What in your life right now feels like something you have to do —
that might actually be something you get to do?

Is there a relationship, a season, or even an ordinary routine
that could look different if you saw it as a gift instead of an obligation?

We would love to know — What do you get to do right now?
