New Year, One Moment at a Time

This year isn’t about big resolutions—it’s about small, intentional moments: growing in faith, taking better care of myself, serving others, and saying yes to what matters most.

We went out to ring in the new year and ended up running into several people we knew. There was lots of dancing, laughing, and just enjoying being together. We did leave a little early, but it felt good to ring in the new year at home and keep things simple.

As for this year, we are keeping our goals pretty straightforward.

We want to spend more time in God’s Word and be more intentional about growing our faith—and letting that show up in how we live it out. Part of that means finding somewhere to serve others and be more involved in giving back, not just reading about faith but putting it into action.

We also want to get healthier—inside and out. That means eating better, being more mindful of what we are putting into our bodies, and getting back into the gym. Not chasing perfection, just consistency and feeling stronger.

This is the year we’re learning new things—picking up the lyre and the mandolin and continuing my language learning. Not “someday” or “hopefully.” We’re making time for learning and music and enjoying the process, even when it’s a little challenging.

We want to make more time for friends, get outside more, and say yes to more activities that don’t involve sitting still. We are also looking forward to planning our next adventure that awaits us. And somewhere in all of that, we want to grumble less and be more grateful.

Here’s to a new year taking it one moment at a time—learning, growing, giving back, and finding joy in the everyday moments that add up to something meaningful.
