What a wonderful Christmas morning we’ve had.
After a long day yesterday, we all slept in this morning—and so did Santa. There was no rush, no alarms, just the quiet comfort of Christmas settling in. We started the day with coffee and sausage balls, answered a few sweet texts wishing us Merry Christmas, and read a very long, heartfelt message from our new family on their way to Germany. Those moments alone felt like gifts.
Eventually, Santa made his way here.
Of all the things Mom received, I believe her favorite was the lyre. Her eyes were bright with excitement, already eager to learn. It feels fitting somehow—2026 is shaping up to be a year of learning new things. I received my mandolin back after many years, and the idea of practicing together feels like a gift in itself. Music has a way of stitching time and hearts together.
I was spoiled with beautiful things as well—from the cutest purse and glass case, to sailor pants, an absolutely stunning white DKNY outfit, some awesome boots, and many other thoughtful surprises. Each one wrapped in love.
Now the house has settled into that familiar Christmas calm. We’re stretched out on the couch, watching traditional holiday movies, starting with The Grinch. The lights are glowing, the room is warm, and hearts are full.
Grateful. Peaceful. Merry Christmas. 🎄✨
