Diet Coke Free: Everyday Moments of Small Changes

We quit Diet Coke for Lent – Easter, and 50 days later, this small sacrifice has turned into something so much bigger—proof that everyday choices can lead to real change.

50 days without Diet Coke… and still going strong 💪✨

We decided to quit Diet Coke on February 18th, and after 50 days without it, this everyday moment has turned into something so much bigger than we expected.

It wasn’t some big, life-changing moment at the time.
Just one of those ordinary conversations…
“Let’s stop drinking Diet Coke.”

And that was it.

Why We Decided to Quit Diet Coke

Truthfully, we didn’t start this just for ourselves.

We decided to give it up for Lent—for Easter.
This actually started with what we felt called to give up during this season—something we shared more about in our what we’re letting go of  post—and it ended up becoming so much more than we expected.

And somehow, it felt easier doing it for Jesus than it did doing it just for us.

It became less about willpower… and more about purpose.

A small sacrifice, yes—but one that reminded us daily why we started.

The Hardest Part of Breaking the Habit

The first few days? They weren’t easy.

It’s funny how something so small can become such a habit.
The usual grab, the afternoon craving, the little voice saying, “just one won’t hurt.”

There were definitely moments it would’ve been easy to go back—but we didn’t.

And no one really sees those moments.
They don’t get posted or celebrated.
They just happen quietly… one choice at a time.

That’s what these everyday moments have been about for us—
real life, real habits, real moments that don’t look big… but actually are.

What Changed After 50 Days

Because 50 days later, something has changed.

We feel better.
Stronger.
More in control than we even expected.

And it didn’t come from one big decision—
it came from showing up every single day and choosing the same thing again.

That’s the beauty of everyday moments.

They don’t always feel important while you’re in them.
But they’re the ones that shape you the most.

So if you’ve been thinking about making a change—this is your sign.

Start today.
Keep going tomorrow.
And don’t underestimate what those small choices can become.

Because they add up.

They always do.

Here’s to keeping it going 🖤

If this moment felt a little familiar… you’re not alone.

We’re learning, too, that change doesn’t always come from big, dramatic decisions.
Sometimes it comes from small sacrifices.
From quiet discipline.
From choosing, day by day, to keep going—even when it would be easier not to.

This journey started with something simple… but it’s becoming something more.
And maybe you’re in a season like that too.

If you’d like to continue this journey with us, we would love to have you.

We send a gentle note whenever a new post goes live—no clutter, no noise—just meaningful reflections, shared moments, and encouragement for whatever season you’re walking through.

With love,
