Big weekend plans? Ohhh friends… this one is shaping up to be a whole event. 😄🚗
We are officially heading south to Milledgeville, Georgia. If you’re vintage enough, you probably remember that’s where the historic mental asylum is. And honestly, after the kind of week we’ve had, the irony is not lost on us. 😂
Our adventure kicks off Friday with a stop at 👁️ Alpharetta Eye Clinic 👁️to see if they can help us out with my eye issues from my 3 botched cataract surgeries from another Doc. Instead of the usual floaters, I’ve been seeing floaters the size of dinosaurs 🦖 drifting through my vision along with the specs, etc of an old silent movie 🎬🤫. We’re hoping for some answers and maybe a plan to help both of us seeing better. 👀
Once we handle that situation, we’re rolling on to Macon. We want to check out what used to be one of the BEST Belks around. We haven’t been there in quite a while. We are about to see if it still deserves its crown. Either way, you know we’re going in for a proper look around — strictly for research purposes, of course. 🛍️ Then for a little Mexican and a refreshing margarita.
From there we’ll continue making our way to Milledgeville. We’ll check into our hotel, and no not the Asylum, lol. We will then enjoy a much-needed mini spa night. And by spa night, I mean comfy clothes, face masks, feet up, and absolutely no responsibilities. ✨
Saturday we will be celebrating love at the wedding of Carlie & Robert. 💍 We have watched Carlie grow from a sweet little girl to the beautiful young woman she is today. This truly makes our hearts smile. We look forward to soaking in those special moments with friends. And of course, we are eager to find that cake table sooner rather than later. 🍰✨ And NO, we will not be in line to catch the bouquet 💐, lol!
Sunday we were hoping to tour the Historic Milledgeville Mental Asylum, but it looks like tours aren’t happening right now. We’re equal parts disappointed and just a little relieved too. There is no way they could admit us this weekend. 😆 Sometimes the plans change… but the memories still get made. 💕
Then it’s back north for us, hopefully with full hearts, tired feet, and plenty of memories.
Something tells me this is going to be one of those weekends we’ll be talking about for a long time. ❤️ Stay tuned!

The strangest place I’ve visited is Lizzie Bordens house. Pretty cool. They have her skull on display.
Have fun my sweet friends! Wouldn’t you know that when you are in GA…I’ll be in AL! When I get moved in at the lake you can have another adventure! 👏👏👏
