It’s Gonna Weather Weekend: The Update

Slow Days. Warm food. Cozy couches. Truth-filled moments. Pizza delivered. That’s a wrap on an It’s Gonna Weather weekend 🤍

The forecast did exactly what we expected — it weathered. And we did exactly what we planned… slowed all the way down.

We let ourselves sleep in, the kind of rest you don’t rush or apologize for. The house stayed quiet a little longer, and the morning unfolded gently — just the way a weather weekend should.

Lumberjack Breakfast Kind of Morning

We kicked things off with a hearty lumberjack breakfast — warm, filling, and made to be enjoyed slowly. One of those meals that feels like comfort on a plate and sets the tone for the rest of the day. Coffee, juice, and nowhere we needed to be.

Potato Soup & Cozy Comfort

Later came potato soup, warm and simple and perfect for whatever the weather decided to be outside. The kind of meal that pairs well with lounging, blankets, and second helpings — because weather weekends don’t count.

Lounging, Firelight & Just Being

The day flowed easily between the couch and the warmth of the fire. Lounging without an agenda, letting conversations wander, letting the moment be enough. No rushing, no checking the clock — just being present together.

Devotion & Quiet Truth

We spent time in devotion, grounding ourselves in truth and reminding our hearts where our hope rests. These quiet moments felt especially meaningful — a pause to reflect, pray, and reset in the middle of all the cozy.

Galentine Bags with Heart 💕

The Galentine gift bags came together beautifully. Each one filled with intention, love, and thoughtfulness for the women who mean so much to us. Creating them felt just as special as giving them — a reminder that small gestures can carry big love.

A Little Music, A Little Nostalgia

Somewhere in between it all, 1969’s Cactus Flower played — adding a touch of nostalgia and calm to the day. Old films, soft background music, and familiar stories have a way of slowing everything down even more.

Worship & Cinnamon Roll Morning

As the weekend continued, today began just as gently. We started the morning with online worship from Silverdale, letting praise fill the house while the fire flickered nearby. With coffee in hand and warm cinnamon rolls shared slowly, worship from home felt especially meaningful — unhurried, comfortable, and full of gratitude.

The words “All my life You have been faithful” echoed through the room, and they felt like the perfect reflection of the entire weekend — a reminder of God’s goodness through every season, loud and quiet alike.

Cozy Couch Time, Movies & One Last Treat

As the day wound down, we settled back into the couch with blankets pulled close and movies playing softly in the background. Devotions and Bible studies were revisited, laughter shared, and the pace stayed slow. And because no weather weekend is complete without a little extra ease, pizza was delivered — of course. No cooking, no cleanup, just one more cozy choice to end the day right.

Weather Happened. Cozy Won.

Rain, cold, or whatever mix the day decided to bring — it truly didn’t matter. The weekend gave us exactly what we needed: rest, warmth, connection, truth, and space to breathe.

That’s the beauty of an “It’s Gonna Weather” Weekend.
You don’t fight the forecast — you cozy into it.

And honestly?
We’d do it all over again. 🤍
